Geonary
Privacy Policy
The short version. Geonary records where you go so it can draw you a map of it. That history is written to a database on your phone and stays there — we never receive it and cannot see it. What we do collect is anonymous usage analytics about which parts of the app get used, and you can switch that off in Settings.
1. Who we are
The Geonary app is made and operated by Zamrudila. For any privacy question or request, email hi@zamrudilaapp.com.
2. What stays on your device
All of this is stored in Geonary's private storage on your phone and is never transmitted:
- Your location history — the coordinates, times and routes Geonary records, and the map it draws from them.
- Your settings, such as theme and base map.
- Whether you own Geonary Lifetime.
Geonary is also excluded from automatic cloud backups and from device-to-device transfer, so your history does not leave the phone that way either.
3. Usage analytics
Geonary uses Firebase Analytics (a Google service) to understand how the app is used — for example which time ranges people look at most. This helps us decide what to build next.
What is collected:
- Anonymous usage events, such as changing the time range, switching the base map, or deleting your history.
- Standard technical data that Google collects for any app using the service: an app installation identifier, device model, operating system and app version, language, and an approximate region derived from your IP address.
What is never collected: no coordinate, no place, no route, no address, and nothing about how much history you have. Your location data is not part of analytics in any form. Geonary shows no ads, never asks for your advertising identifier, and does not track you across other apps or websites. There is no crash reporting.
You can turn it off. Open Settings → Privacy → Usage analytics and switch it off. Collection stops immediately and stays off.
4. The map
The background map is drawn from tiles fetched from a third-party provider (Esri / ArcGIS, using data that includes OpenStreetMap contributions). As with loading any web page, the provider receives your IP address and which tiles you asked for — that is, the area you are currently looking at. It does not receive your recorded history or any identifier from Geonary.
5. Purchases
Geonary Lifetime is sold through the Apple App Store and Google Play. Payment, receipts and refunds are handled entirely by Apple or Google under their own policies. We never see your payment details.
6. Third parties
- Google (Firebase Analytics) — usage analytics.
- Esri / ArcGIS, with OpenStreetMap data — map tiles.
- Apple App Store and Google Play — distribution, payment and app updates.
We do not sell or rent your data, and we do not share it for advertising. These providers may process data outside your country, including in the United States, under the transfer mechanisms set out in their own policies.
7. Deleting your data, and your rights
Your location history is on your device, so you delete it yourself and it is gone — we hold no copy to delete for you. The steps are on the support page.
Where data protection law such as the GDPR or Türkiye's KVKK applies, you have rights of access, correction, erasure and objection in respect of the analytics data described in section 3. Email hi@zamrudilaapp.com and we will respond within the period the law requires.
8. Children
Geonary is not directed at children and is not intended for anyone under 13, or under the higher minimum age that applies in your country. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.
9. Changes
If this policy changes we will update the date at the top of the page, and a change that materially reduces the protections described here will be announced in the app before it takes effect.
